Frank Delano, LMSW
Quality supervisors are crucial to the success of any program and the ability to provide quality services to the children and families we work with. This very interactive workshop will present strategies for participants to continue their growth and effectiveness in their role. Topics will include defining supervision, strategies with challenging employees, building a positive culture and enhancing leadership skills. The training will be delivered in the presenter's unique coaching style of training. (see www.frankdelanotraining for a description). Participants are encouraged to bring real issues from their practice for discussion.
About the Trainer: Frank Delano, LMSW
Frank Delano, LMSW, is the President of Professional Package Consulting Inc. Frank began his career as a direct service Child Care Worker in a large residential treatment center for children near New York City. He worked 25 years in that program climbing the ladder until the last 11 years were as agency Associate Director. He continued in the agency 12 more years in JBFCS as Director of a Day Treatment and Director of the Rita Markus Training Institute. He spent 20 years as an Adjunct Faculty in the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services. He currently is working as a regular contract trainer with the University of Oklahoma since 2007, the City University of New York, and with a number of agencies throughout the United States and Canada. Frank has infused his concept of (relational) “Money in the Bank” in his trainings as a foundation for healthy relationship building with clients. He is also the co-creator of the concept of “Professional Package”.
Frank is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the national Association of Child and Youth Care Practice. He was a member of the Child Welfare League of America’s National Residential Advisory Board for 19 years as well as the Walker-Treischman Center National Advisory Board. He also served on the Board of Directors of The American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work. Frank was on the Committee that revised the Child Welfare League of America’s National Standards of Excellence for children in residential group care in America.
Frank has presented at over 50 National and International Conferences and has presented internationally in Australia, the Czech Republic, India, Ireland, Austria, Israel, Scotland, France as well as all over Canada and the United States
